CHAPTER 03 · 2024 · VISION JOINS THE SIGNAL

AI Dash Camera

If GPS told you where you are, computer vision tells you what's happening. We built an AI dash camera that watches the road so drivers don't have to guess — detecting fatigue, harsh braking, collisions, and lane drift, all in real time.

The Challenge

Road accidents kill thousands every year, and most are caused by human error — fatigue, distraction, speeding. Drivers can't catch everything, and by the time an incident is reported, it's already happened. Businesses had no way to proactively prevent collisions, coach drivers, or prove what happened in court.

What We Built

An AI-powered dash camera running on-device computer vision: real-time fatigue detection via facial analysis, harsh braking and acceleration sensing through inertial data, collision prediction and alerts sent to fleet managers, and automatic incident video capture with 4G/5G upload for evidence.

Under the Hood

Built for real-world conditions, not lab demos.

The Impact

  • Reduced reported incidents by up to 60% across pilot fleet partners.
  • Enabled insurance cost savings of ₹2,400+ per vehicle annually.
  • Became the first Fuelo product trained entirely on Indian road conditions.
